Our Story

Though our story officially began on the 1st December 2013, we spent the last few nights of November 2013 together listening to Arctic Monkeys and stargazing- then when the weather eventually turned on us, retreating inside to scoff pizza and watch Sherlock. After three days of non-stop conversation (plus a little bit of positive peer pressure, thank you Ross and Lil!) we decided to make it official, and it wasn’t long before we realised that we had found more than just a teenage crush - we had found our forever person...and the rest, as they say, was history....

From there every day was another adventure....Every week brought another sleepover, gig or gaming marathon - at least half a dozen usernames crammed into a dodgy in-game chat complaining about highschool, then college, and eventually university. Some of the first nights we shared as a couple were spent with friends hiking to a tiny layby out in the countryside, so that we could have a midnight picnic watching planes as they came in to land before descending upon James' house to play games and blast music. For close to a decade Chalfont way, or 'The Orphanage' as we prefered to call it, played host to our many sleepovers, LAN parties, birthdays, Christmasses and Halloweens; New Years Eve hotpot and auld lang syne off key.

We have celebrated twelve amazing years together, gigging, making memories, and causing mayhem. We've shared so many adventures over the years; Cooperdays, Fitton BBQs, chaotic camping holidays and friday night gigs. There has always been a reason to celebrate, birthdays, graduations, promotions, engagements

Whether a relaxed family dinner or a full throttle gig...every adventure has been filled with a whole load of mischief and music...

Music has played a huge part in our story and we are honoured to have you all join us for an evening of dancing so that we can share the music that with love with the people we cherish most. Growing up we were surrounded by amazing music, and memories of childhood car rides spent singing along to Black Sabbath and New Order formed the foundation of our lifelong passion for music. We have shared so many gigs with friends, festivals with the Fittons, and caused our fair share of chaos with the Coopers; Live Outside at Ally Pally, Karaoke nights with the Black Parade to Saturday night Stranglers and circle pits. The soundtrack to our life together is filled to the brim with music that holds memories made alongside family and friends, both old and new.

Arctic Monkeys, Nothing But Thieves, Enter Shikari, and all the other music that we mutually loved became the soundtrack for our earliest chapters together, but has also become a quintessential part of our story-we cannot wait to see what music our next chapter brings and having now seen close to one hundred bands together we are looking forward to our final gig before the Wedding, and are already counting down the days to our first gig together as Mr & Mrs Fitton! Our story thus far has been filled with gigs, kickass holidays, and unexpected adventures, and as the wedding grows ever-nearer we are excited not just for the years of good wine, sunshine and music together, but for the memories yet to be made rocking out alongside friends and family.

More adventures followed GCSEs, the skate park, college history class, bike rides, bonfires, scary movies - all the high and lows of life spent hand in hand. Until ... after eight years together, in a magical corner of Scotland, James popped the question and we started planning our forever...

Celebrations started in Scotland, but more celebrations awaited us upon returning home to Luton where friends and family were waiting to ambush us with BBQs, celebratory drinks and ideas for our special day- the love, excitement and generosity shown by everyone around us has made our journey to November 30th all the sweeter...

Yet, as we've busied ourselves with drawing up dreams for our future together and planning our special day,

our nearest and dearest began drawing up their own plans.....

With the big day quickly approaching one word loomed large..........STAG!

The Hens kicked back in Plymouth with cocktails and karaoke; they threw axes, beat an escape room, dressed up, explored prehistoric caves, and serenaded all of plymouth with The Black Parade. The Bachelorette party caused chaos at a crime museum, chilled out in quiet seaside coves and chatting away the evenings with mojitos, facemasks and music.

Meanwhile the Stags let loose in Glasgow; battling it out for first place at Go-Karting, setting new highscores at the arcade, playing Quiplash with a takeout, and getting thoroughly pummelled at paintballing. They enjoyed everything from quiet steak dinners to high octane (albeit somewhat impromptu) nerf-wars... all accompanied by a half pint cardboard cutout of the Groom-to-be

A massive thank you to all the troublemakers who plotted (in total secrecy we'd like to add) and celebrated with us....

With special thanks to Connor and Sophie for wrangling our Groomsmen and Bridesmaids - causing untold chaos on the streets of Glasgow and Plymouth and pulling off the most kick-ass Bachelor/Bachelorette parties we could've possibly asked for....
